We’re proud to share that our carousel has earned Accessibility Verified Status from Wheel the World, recognizing our commitment to making joy, art, and history accessible to everyone.

Below is an overview of the many ways we’ve designed our space and experiences to welcome all guests:

Physical Accessibility

• Accessible Entrances & Rides: Our main entrances feature automatic door buttons and step-free access. The carousel itself is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp and proper spacing for guests using mobility devices.

• Elevator Access: Guests can enjoy a full tour experience. Our elevator provides easy access to the downstairs exhibits.

• Spacious Layout: We maintain wide, unobstructed pathways throughout the building, ensuring smooth access to all areas including the gift shop, art studio, museum, carving studio, party rooms, and restrooms.

• Accessible Water Fountains: Water fountains are available at two heights for comfort and ease of use.

Communication & Sensory Accessibility

• Electronic Translator Service: We offer an on-demand translator with support for over 100 languages, helping guests connect with our staff and exhibits.

• Sensory-Friendly Mornings: Every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., we host Sensory-Friendly Carousel Mornings. The ride runs at a slower speed, and music volume is reduced to create a calm and welcoming experience.

• Color-Accessibility Support: Guests who are colorblind can borrow color-corrective glasses from multiple locations throughout downtown, making every visit more vivid and inclusive.

Digital & Information Accessibility

• We are currently updating our website to ensure full compatibility with screen readers and audio text readers, allowing visitors to easily access all information online.
