Representing six generations in the poultry business, the family of Melvin Jenks sponsored this handsome rooster for the carousel. Melvin Jenks was the grandson of Oregon Trail Pioneers who settled a farm in Tangent, Oregon, starting a hatchery business that is still in operation today. The family adopted this rooster named “St. Chick” who will be an outside row stander placed on the carousel during the Christmas season. He wears a Christmas wreath around his neck with family names on the ornaments and a medallion honoring the Jenks family business. His saddle is a blue blanket decorated with white snowflakes and bordered by gold bells. Father Christmas rides along with his “naughty or nice” list of names. Little yellow chicks peek out from the tail feathers and in front of the mounting pole.
