Peace is our Carousel’s lioness. Her sponsorship was a birthday gift to Linda Lees from her husband, children, and friends. Strong and confident, Peace is an outside-row animal sheltering a lamb between her front legs.
Peace stands serenely on the Carousel looking forward with her head back and her mouth closed. The blanket on her back represents the Earth with green continents and blue oceans. Around the edge of the blanket is the word “peace” written in 27 different languages including Braille.
The theme of peace is expressed not only in her name and by displaying a lion and lamb together, but by a white dove holding an olive branch by her shoulder.
