King proudly poses on the outside row of the carousel, standing on all four paws with his head raised and his mouth wide open as he lets loose a mighty roar. King does not wear a saddle or harness as this is not fitting for a wild animal.
The inspiration for King came during an African Safari trip when the Darbys saw that a lion was watching them from a distance, having just finished eating. He was ‘guarding’ his territory, just as they felt King would do on our beautiful carousel.
King has a magnificent dark brown mane and a tuft at the end of his tail to match. Look at that pink tongue and those long fangs! He truly is the King of the Beasts.
