The new design shows large arched windows giving clear views of the carousel inside. The arched motif is carried through the linear portion of the building. The carousel itself is housed in this 12 sided structure with the roof windows providing ambient lighting from above.
After dark, the lighted carousel provides a stunning view of the animals through the large arched windows.
Help us finance a new building to house the Historic Carousel and Museum at the exitsing site. The building will house a 1909 Dentzel mechanism with the hand carved animals. It will serve as a reminder of past family outings for generations to come. You can be part of this project. Can you help?
Our goals are:
To raise $5,000,000 for construction
To raise $2,000,000 for naming the building
To identify carousel art collectors for additions to the museum
Come to the carousel at 503 W. 1st Street in Albany to find out more about the project or call
