The Hippocampus is a mythological animal that is half horse, half fish. The Guardian was being carved and sanded for nearly a year before he was adopted. His bridle is made from light green kelp which flows down his neck. He has a long sweeping fin instead of a horse’s mane. His tail curves back on itself and splits into two fins. Notice the mermaid and tropical fish painted on his tail.
