The Albany, Oregon community became interested in creating an “historic” hand carved carousel, similar to the projects completed recently in Missoula, Montana and Salem, Oregon. This project was intended to involve the community, not only in the fundraising but also in the creative process of animal design, carving, painting, etc. Workers began carving a menagerie of animals in an artistic style similar to the great early carousel carvers like the Dentzels.
Our vision is to enchant young and old alike with the finest carousel in the world, promote the artistry of carousel building by sharing our skills and talents and build community by opening our venue to events and activities.
