Cheyenne, the Cavalry Horse: sponsored by Lee and Peg Bridgeman

Lee always referred to this horse as a “cavalry mount”. Named Cheyenne, he races full speed around the inside row of the carousel as if carrying his rider across the prairie. He is a buckskin horse with a black mane and tail. Cheyenne is an accurate representation of an 1870s-era cavalry horse ridden by the U.S. Army. His saddle carries a bed roll, a saddlebag, canteen, and a military sword. His dark blue saddle blanket is edged in gold. This military horse is now a memorial to Lee who died August 13, 2013 and his wife Peg who died May 25, 2014. They both worked on Cheyenne, Lee helped carve and Peg helped with the painting. The only personalization added by the Bridgeman’s is a silver oak leaf on the saddle representing Lee’s USAF Lieutenant Colonel (retired) rank.
